Description of the Questionnaire

The Self-image Questionnaire for Greek Adolescents includes 89 questions and assesses self-image across seven scales: self-esteem, family attitudes, coping and adaptation, self-confidence, sexual attitudes, altruism, and egocentricity. The standardization was based on a sample of 2,042 Greek adolescents.

Data Analysis and Use

The analysis is based on the statistical processing of the responses and their correlation with the Coopersmith Self-image Inventory, which indicates good validity. Reliability, according to Cronbach’s α coefficient, is 0.86 for self-esteem, 0.79 for family attitudes, 0.76 for coping and adaptation, 0.65 for self-confidence, 0.68 for sexual attitudes, 0.68 for altruism, and 0.62 for egocentricity.

Purpose

The purpose of the questionnaire is to evaluate the degree of self-image among Greek adolescents, across various aspects of their personal, family, and social life.

Scoring

Scoring is carried out by summing up the scores within each scale. Respondents answer on a six-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 to 6.
