Questionnaire Analysis
The Achenbach Youth Self Report (YSR-112) was developed by Achenbach in 2003 and is completed by adolescents, who themselves describe how functional they consider themselves to be.
Purpose of the Questionnaire
The Achenbach Youth Self Report was created to assess the competencies, behavioral problems, and adaptive functioning of adolescents aged 11 to 18 years.
Question Scoring and Statistical Analysis
The Achenbach Youth Self Report is one of the three questionnaires of the Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment and consists of 112 items through which the possible presence of psychopathology in the adolescent is detected. The Achenbach Youth Self Report yields a total problem score, which is calculated as the sum of the responses to all items.
Validity and Reliability
The Achenbach Youth Self Report demonstrates high reliability both across interviewers and in test-retest measurements. The internal consistency indices for the empirical problem scales range between 0.71–0.95.
