Analysis
The Sport Anxiety Scale was developed to assess anxiety levels related to athletic activity. It consists of 21 statements that evaluate three dimensions of sport anxiety: Somatic Anxiety, Worry, and Lack of Confidence.
Purpose
The purpose of the SAS is to provide a reliable and valid method for measuring sport-related anxiety, helping sport psychologists, coaches, and researchers understand how anxiety affects athletes’ performance.
Scoring
Participants are asked to rate how often they experience the feelings described on a Likert scale ranging from 1 (almost never) to 4 (almost always).
