Analysis
The analysis of the SAOS results focuses on understanding the level of academic optimism present within a school environment. The tool helps distinguish between schools that demonstrate high levels of academic optimism and those with lower levels. By analyzing the data, it is possible to identify the factors influencing academic optimism and to make recommendations for improving the academic climate and school culture.
Objective
The main objective of the SAOS is to assess and enhance academic optimism within the school environment. Academic optimism is associated with the belief that the school can achieve academic goals regardless of the challenges it faces. Through the use of SAOS, education leaders can identify areas needing improvement, develop support strategies, and foster a positive climate that encourages students’ academic success.
Calibration
The calibration of the SAOS involves recording responses to questions related to academic optimism and converting them into quantitative results. Each question is answered on a response scale, typically a Likert scale ranging from “Strongly Agree” to “Strongly Disagree.” The results are aggregated and analyzed to determine the level of academic optimism for the school or across multiple participating schools. The evaluation of the results allows for comparisons between different schools or regions and enables monitoring of the development of academic optimism over time.
