Analysis

The analysis of the results of the SOBI includes the examination of responses in order to understand the different aspects of the sense of belonging. For the SOBI-P, the analysis examines the individual’s internal experiences and how these affect their sense of personal integration and psychological security. For the SOBI-A, the analysis focuses on external recognition and the social support that the individual receives from those around them. The analysis may reveal correlations between the sense of belonging and other psychological or social factors, such as well-being and mental health.

Purpose

The purpose of the SOBI is to assess individuals’ sense of belonging in different social and psychological contexts. By providing detailed information about belonging experiences, the tool can be used to identify areas that require intervention and to develop strategies for improving social support and psychological integration. The SOBI-P and SOBI-A can be used in clinical, educational, and research settings to help promote psychological well-being and social cohesion.

Calibration

The calibration of the SOBI is carried out through the analysis of data from large population samples to ensure the reliability and validity of the tool. Calibration procedures include the evaluation of internal consistency, temporal stability, and convergent and discriminant validity. Through these processes, scoring norms are developed that allow for the comparison of an individual’s results with those of a broader population. This enables the accurate interpretation of levels of the sense of belonging.
