Scale Analysis

The Tendency to Forgive Scale (TTFS) is a tool used to measure an individual’s capacity to forgive. Developed by researchers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, the TTFS is a self-report questionnaire that assesses both a person’s willingness and motivation to forgive. It is designed to evaluate a person’s readiness to forgive and can be used to help individuals make decisions regarding their relationships and how to move forward in them.

Purpose

The purpose of this scale is to record an individual’s ability to forgive.

Scoring

The TTFS-10 scale consists of 10 items, which are rated as follows:
1 = Strongly Disagree,
2 = Slightly Disagree,
3 = Neutral (Equally Agree and Disagree),
4 = Slightly Agree,
5 = Strongly Agree.
