Purpose of the Questionnaire (Scale)

The OCI aims to evaluate organizational culture by identifying the dominant behaviors that are reinforced and expected within an organization. The tool helps diagnose the current culture and design interventions to enhance effectiveness, employee satisfaction, and overall performance.

Questionnaire (Scale) Analysis

The OCI is one of the most widely used tools for assessing organizational culture worldwide. It includes 120 statements categorized into 12 cultural style types, which are grouped into three general culture types:
Constructive
Passive/Defensive
Aggressive/Defensive
The tool can be applied at any level of the organizational hierarchy, such as a department, team, or the entire organization, and is intended for employees and managers across various industries.

Scoring of Items

Participants rate the 120 statements on a 5-point Likert scale (from “not at all” to “a great extent”). The responses are analyzed using normative reference data (norms), and the results are usually presented in circular diagrams illustrating the dominant cultural styles within the organizational culture.

Statistical Analysis

The analysis of OCI data is carried out using normative reference data (norms), and the results are recorded and analyzed based on the three general culture categories mentioned above. Each category is further analyzed according to the results of the 120-item assessment, allowing for the diagnosis of dominant cultural styles and their comparison with the expectations and goals of the organizational culture.

Validity of the Questionnaire (Scale)

The OCI demonstrates high construct and discriminant validity. It has been positively associated with indicators of performance, job satisfaction, and employee commitment. Research findings indicate that the tool is reliable for measuring and categorizing organizational culture and can be used for diagnosing organizational needs and designing interventions to enhance effectiveness and performance.

Reliability of the Questionnaire (Scale)

The OCI shows high internal consistency, with Cronbach’s alpha coefficients exceeding 0.80 for most scales. It also demonstrates stability over time, making it a reliable tool for the long-term assessment of organizational culture.
