Analysis

The Leader-Member Exchange Scale is used to measure the quality of the relationship between a leader and a team member. The LMX model focuses on the dyadic relationships between a leader and each team member individually, rather than examining the leader’s overall behavior towards the team as a whole.

Objective

The objective of the scale is to assess the quality of exchange and relationship between the leader and the team member. The scale helps identify strengths and weaknesses in these relationships and contributes to understanding how the quality of these relationships can affect performance, satisfaction, and commitment of team members.

Calibration

The scale consists of 7 questions that evaluate various dimensions of the leader-member relationship, such as trust, respect, and mutual support. Calibration is conducted using a five-point or seven-point Likert scale (1 = Very little to 5 = Very much).
