Analysis
The Ways of Coping Scale, developed by Dr. Susan Folkman and Dr. Richard S. Lazarus, is a psychometric tool used to assess the various strategies individuals employ to cope with stressful situations. The scale helps to understand the coping mechanisms people adopt when facing stress in their daily lives.
Purpose
The purpose of the Ways of Coping Scale is to identify and analyze the different coping strategies individuals use, in order to support the development of interventions and support programs aimed at promoting mental health and well-being.
Scoring Method
The scale includes statements that evaluate the frequency of use of various coping strategies, such as problem-solving, emotional regulation, and seeking social support. Responses are rated on a 4-point Likert scale.
