Analysis
The Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Knowledge and Attitudes Scale (LGB-KAS) is a tool used to evaluate knowledge and attitudes toward lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals. Its purpose is to identify prevailing social perceptions and to assess the level of understanding and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals.
Purpose
The purpose of the scale is:
Assessment of Knowledge: To evaluate the level of knowledge regarding the LGBTQ+ community and the issues that concern it.
Analysis of Attitudes: To analyze participants’ attitudes toward LGBTQ+ individuals, with a focus on prejudices and stereotypes.
Enhancement of Education: To strengthen the educational process regarding equality and acceptance of diversity.
Promotion of Social Change: To promote social change through the understanding and acceptance of sexual diversity.
Scoring
The scoring of the scale is based on a series of statements that participants are asked to evaluate on a Likert scale ranging from 1 (not at all agree) to 5 (strongly agree). The statements cover various aspects of knowledge and attitudes toward LGBTQ+ individuals and are analyzed to determine patterns in participants’ perceptions.
