Analysis

The HISA is a tool designed to measure individuals’ level of sexual assertiveness. It focuses on the ability of individuals to express and claim their sexual needs and desires with confidence and clarity, while also taking into account the wishes and boundaries of their partners.

Purpose

The main purpose of the HISA is to:
Assess the level of sexual assertiveness: It measures an individual’s ability to express their sexual desires and needs directly and with confidence.
Investigate the relationship between sexual assertiveness and other psychological parameters: It examines how sexual assertiveness relates to self-esteem, relationship communication, and overall psychological well-being.
Support the development of strategies and interventions: It provides data for the development of strategies that help individuals improve their ability for sexual assertiveness, while at the same time ensuring sensitivity toward their partners’ needs and boundaries.

Scoring

The scoring of the HISA includes:
Categorization of responses: Participants answer questions related to their own ability for sexual assertiveness, using agreement scales or other measurement methods.
Total score: A total score is calculated that reflects the level of sexual assertiveness. Higher scores indicate a greater ability for clear and confident expression of sexual desires.
Analysis of results: The relationship between sexual assertiveness and other variables is examined, such as self-esteem, communication within relationships, and overall psychological well-being.
