Analysis
The scale consists of various statements and questions that examine different aspects of sexual experience, such as:
Frequency of Sexual Activity: Questions about how often individuals engage in various sexual acts.
Variety of Sexual Practices: Examines the extent of different sexual practices in which an individual participates.
Attitudes Toward Sexuality: Assesses perceptions and attitudes toward sexual activity and sexual relationships.
Satisfaction with Sexual Life: Questions that measure satisfaction and pleasure derived from sexual activities.
Participants are asked to evaluate their experiences and attitudes using a Likert scale, ranging from 1 (never or not at all) to 5 (very often or extremely satisfying).
Objective
The objective of the Cowart–Pollack Scale of Sexual Experience is to provide a comprehensive assessment of individuals’ sexual lives, taking into account experiences, frequency, and satisfaction with sexual activities. This information is valuable for mental health professionals and researchers who wish to better understand sexual behaviors and individuals’ psychological well-being.
Scoring
Scoring of the scale is based on the analysis of responses in each category. Total scores help evaluate the variety and frequency of sexual experiences, as well as the level of satisfaction with sexual life.
