Analysis
The Organization-Based Self-Esteem Scale was developed to assess the degree to which individuals believe that they are capable, important, and worthy within the organization where they work.
Purpose
The purpose of the OBSE is to provide a clear and reliable measurement of self-esteem related to work and the organizational context. This tool is useful for understanding the effects of employees’ self-esteem on performance, commitment, and overall job satisfaction.
Calibration
The scale includes various dimensions related to self-esteem in the organizational context, such as the sense of value, competence, and belonging. Calibration is done using a 5-point or 7-point Likert scale, where participants evaluate the extent to which they agree with various statements.
