Analysis
The Susceptibility to Driver Distraction Questionnaire (SDDQ) was designed to measure drivers’ susceptibility to distractions while driving. Distractions may arise from various sources, such as mobile phones, conversations with passengers, or other external interferences that can affect a driver’s ability to focus and concentrate on the driving task.
Purpose
The main purpose of the SDDQ is to assess a driver’s susceptibility to distractions while driving. This assessment helps in understanding how drivers react to different types of distractions and how these distractions may impact driving safety. The results can be used to develop training and intervention strategies aimed at reducing susceptibility to distractions and improving driving performance.
Scoring
The SDDQ includes a series of questions typically rated on a 5- or 7-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 (never) to 5 or 7 (always). The questions cover various aspects of distraction susceptibility during driving, such as the perceived level of distraction, frequency, impact, and coping strategies.
