Purpose

The purpose of this questionnaire is to determine the degree to which individuals are focused on their internal motivation or rely on external factors to mobilize them. This goal can be achieved by assessing autonomy and intrinsic motivation in relation to behavioral actions, such as sports, exercise, or other activities. Based on the results, information can be obtained about the extent to which people seek internal motivation and self-management in their activities.

Scoring

The BREQ-19 consists of 19 items where participants are asked to indicate the degree to which they agree with various statements regarding motivation and autonomy.
