Scale Analysis

The Perpetration in Dating Relationships Scale (PDRS) is a scale developed to measure the prevalence and frequency of physical, sexual, and psychological aggression in dating relationships. It was created by researchers at the University of Michigan to assist in identifying and assessing aggression levels in romantic partnerships.

Objective

The aim of this scale is to record the prevalence and frequency of physical, sexual, and psychological aggression in dating relationships.

Scoring

The PDRS-18 consists of 18 items, each rated on a 5-point scale ranging from “never” to “very often.”

Validity and Reliability

The PDRS has been found to be a reliable and valid instrument for measuring physical, sexual, and psychological aggression in romantic relationships. It has been used in various research studies and has proven to be a useful tool for identifying aggressive behaviors in dating contexts.
