Analysis

The JLS is a tool designed to evaluate children’s perception and experience of love. It is an adapted version of the Passionate Love Scale (PLS) and was created to understand how children experience and express emotional connections that resemble love, but within an age-appropriate framework.

Purpose

The main goals of the JLS are to:
Measure Children’s Experiences of Love: Assess how children perceive and experience their emotional relationships.
Explore Emotional Perceptions: Examine the emotional and psychological aspects of love as expressed by children.
Identify Differences Compared to Adult Love: Compare children’s perception of love with that of adults, as measured by the Passionate Love Scale.
Support Educational and Therapeutic Interventions: Provide data for the development of programs that help children better understand their emotional experiences and relationships.

Calibration

Calibration of the JLS includes:
Categorization of Responses: Children answer questions related to their perception and experience of love using simple and understandable scales.
Total Score: A total score is calculated that reflects the intensity and type of their emotional experiences.
Result Analysis: The relationship between children’s emotional experiences and other parameters, such as social interaction and psychological development, is examined.
