Purpose of the Questionnaire

The purpose of the questionnaire is to capture children’s relationship with food, their eating habits, and the beliefs of both their family and social environment regarding nutrition.

Questionnaire Analysis

The questionnaire was developed by Barbopoulou in 2006, using a sample of 820 students aged 8 to 10 years old. Responses were collected orally. The questionnaire focuses on three main areas:
Children’s eating habits, assessed through 13 questions (12 closed-ended and 1 open-ended)
Children’s overall attitude toward food, assessed through 3 open-ended questions
Children’s perceptions of the nutritional beliefs of their environment, also assessed through 3 open-ended questions

Scoring of the Questions

The 12 closed-ended questions on eating habits were scored using three types of rating scales:
1 question used a 6-point scale
7 questions used a 5-point scale
4 questions used a 2-point scale
Responses related to attitudes and perceptions were analyzed across seven components, referred to as semantic differential scales, which were evaluated using a Likert-type scale.
