Analysis
The IOSH is a tool designed to measure the extent and frequency of sexual harassment incidents experienced by individuals, usually in professional or social environments. The scale evaluates various dimensions of sexual harassment, including unwanted sexual advances, physical contact, and sexually charged comments.
Aim
The main aim of the IOSH is to measure the prevalence of sexual harassment by assessing the frequency and intensity of incidents experienced by individuals; to identify specific forms of harassment by examining different types such as verbal, physical, or visual; to investigate the consequences of sexual harassment on mental health, job performance, and overall well-being; and to support policies and interventions by providing data that can be used for the development of prevention policies and programs.
Calibration
The calibration of the IOSH includes the categorization of responses, in which participants answer questions related to different forms of sexual harassment using agreement–disagreement scales, frequency scales, or other measurement methods. A total score is then calculated for each type of sexual harassment, as well as an overall score that reflects the general extent of harassment. The analysis of results examines the relationship between levels of sexual harassment and other parameters such as job satisfaction, mental health, and the quality of workplace relationships.
