Analysis
The GPCQ is a tool designed to evaluate peer groups and social networks of gay individuals. It examines various aspects of social interactions and social support within LGBTQ+ communities, focusing on issues such as social inclusion, participation in different social groups, and the influence of gay individuals in their social interactions.
Purpose
The main goals of the GPCQ are to:
Evaluate peer groups: Measure how individuals with a gay identity connect and interact with others in their community.
Examine social support and inclusion: Analyze the support that gay individuals give and receive from their social groups, as well as their degree of integration into communities.
Support research and policy development: Provide data that can be used for the development of policies and programs that enhance social support and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals.
Scoring
The scoring of the GPCQ includes:
Categorization of Responses: Participants respond to questions related to their social interactions and peer groups, using agreement scales or other measurement methods.
Total Score: A total score is calculated for social inclusion and peer groups, as well as scores for different aspects of social support and participation.
Analysis of Results: The relationship between social interactions, support, and inclusion is examined alongside other variables such as psychological well-being and life satisfaction.
