Scale Analysis

The Gala Personality Test was developed by Galanakis and Stalikas in 2006 based on the framework of the Big Five model, aiming to identify and evaluate dimensions, aspects, and behaviors that fall within its general scope. This particular test is the only Greek tool for diagnosing an individual’s personality, designed exclusively for use in Greek businesses.

Purpose

The Gala Personality Test was created to assess an individual’s personality according to their behavior. The dimensions it includes are thought, energy, nature, tactics, and identity. Moreover, the dimensions evaluated by this test are more focused on the professional context, in the sense that it attempts to diagnose traits that may influence and regulate adaptability, productivity, and career development.

Question Calibration

Participants are asked to respond by reflecting on how they react in their relationships with other people, as well as various questions about their emotions. The scale consists of 50 questions, which are answered using a 7-point Likert-type scale ranging from 1 (Strongly Agree) to 7 (Strongly Disagree).

Statistical Analysis

Once the questionnaire is completed, the scale produces an overall percentage score as the sum of the responses for each dimension separately. Then, depending on the characteristics of each individual, it further analyzes what this means for their life.

Validity and Reliability

The scale was adapted into Greek by M. Galanakis and A. Stalikas and has been standardized in this language. The test demonstrates satisfactory psychometric properties. Specifically, the internal consistency reliability of the scale is Cronbach’s α = 0.84, while it also shows high validity (r = 0.74 – 0.83).
