Purpose
The purpose of the questionnaire is to study the awareness, values, and representations of future educators regarding the status of women in Greek and British society.
Brief Description
This is a semi-structured self-report questionnaire composed of five sections: biographical information, public life, paid employment, private life (such as the role of women in the family), and gender-based education. It includes both open-ended and closed-ended questions that examine participants’ values, attitudes, and perceptions regarding the status of women, legal frameworks, discrimination, and expectations for social equality. Special emphasis is placed on how language (words and terms) characterizes gender roles and how participants perceive social changes concerning women.
Validity
The tool was developed based on a comparative sociological approach and is considered conceptually valid for studying attitudes and values related to gender equality and the position of women in society. It has been applied to both Greek and international samples.
Reliability
No specific reliability indices (such as Cronbach’s alpha) are reported, as the tool is semi-structured and includes open-ended questions. However, its use in studies with large samples (340 educators) supports its content and usage reliability.
Data Analysis and Use
The analysis includes both quantitative techniques (statistical processing of closed-ended questions) and qualitative techniques (content analysis of open-ended responses). The data are used to document the perceptions, biases, and social attitudes of future educators concerning the status of women and the dimension of equality in education and society.
