Analysis
This is a tool designed to explore and measure an individual’s work values, which are a central reference point for one’s career path and professional success.
Purpose
The revised version of TERGA (Work Values Assessment Test) is designed for use with secondary school students aged 15 to 18. It consists of 64 statements that explore individuals’ values and assesses nine core work values:
Job security
Free time
Work environment
Salary
Financial benefits
Creativity and innovation
Recognition
Mobility and travel
Leadership and management
In addition, TERGA includes five secondary scales: compensation, ambition, innovation, recognition, and work environment.
Scoring
Scoring is conducted on two levels:
Evaluation of the main subscales
Evaluation of the secondary scales
Responses are based on the individual’s degree of agreement with each statement.
Validity and Reliability
TERGA is reported to have high validity and reliability. Results from exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis indicate that the theoretical model on which the test is based is sufficient and supported by the data.
Reliability coefficients for the scales are as follows:
Job security: 0.70
Free time: 0.64
Work environment: 0.76
Financial benefits: 0.72
Creativity: 0.76
Recognition: 0.79
Leadership/management: 0.77
Mobility/travel: 0.73
