Brief Description
This is a semi-structured questionnaire consisting of nine closed and open-ended questions. The questions focus on: (a) the extent to which teachers address nutrition education topics in the classroom, (b) their attitudes and perceptions regarding the importance of nutrition education and nutrition in general, and (c) their personal dietary preferences. The tool also records basic demographic characteristics of the participants (gender, age, education, years of teaching experience, etc.).
Purpose
The purpose of the questionnaire is to explore primary school teachers’ attitudes and perceptions toward nutrition education, as well as to record their involvement with nutrition-related topics in the educational process.
Scoring Method
Closed-ended questions related to the frequency of addressing nutrition education topics and teachers’ attitudes are scored on a seven-point Likert scale. Open-ended questions are analyzed thematically, and responses are categorized according to emerging thematic units. Responses regarding teachers’ dietary preferences are grouped through factor analysis and scored by dimension on a seven-point scale.
Validity
The validity of the tool is supported by the clear thematic structure of the questions, which is based on prior literature and educational standards for nutrition education. Factor analysis confirms the organization of thematic dimensions in accordance with the theoretical framework.
Reliability
The internal consistency reliability of the scales was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha and found to be at satisfactory levels, confirming the homogeneity of questions within each thematic section.
Data Analysis and Use
Analysis includes descriptive statistics on the frequency of implementing nutrition education, thematic analysis of open-ended responses, factor analysis to identify subscales, and correlations with demographic characteristics. The data can be used for designing teacher training interventions, developing nutrition education programs, and conducting research studies in the field of school health.
