The Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Questionnaire – 3 (SATAQ-3) is a psychometric tool designed to assess the social and cultural influences on individuals’ perceptions and attitudes regarding appearance.

Purpose

The goal of SATAQ-3 is to provide a reliable and valid method for measuring the social and cultural attitudes that influence appearance.

Scoring

It includes a variety of statements that participants are asked to rate on a Likert scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). These statements assess four key domains: Internalization of Beauty Ideals, Internalization of Athletic Ideals, Media Pressure, and Media Information.
