Brief Description
The IIAQ is a checklist of 110 behaviors frequently observed in children and adolescents. These behaviors are recorded by psychologists, counselors, parents, or teachers and are associated with psychological or social difficulties. The tool is based on the Quay and Peterson Revised Behavior Problem Checklist and has been adapted for the Greek population.
Purpose
The purpose of the IIAQ is to evaluate problematic behaviors in children from preschool age through adolescence, with emphasis on behaviors that may affect their school and social adjustment. Results can be used to identify needs and design appropriate interventions.
Scoring Method
Scoring is carried out by summing the points for all responses corresponding to each syndrome. Behaviors are categorized into four main domains and 14 syndromes, such as attention problems, hyperactivity, aggression, and emotional difficulty.
Validity
The validity of the IIAQ is supported by its adaptation and standardization for the Greek population, as well as by comparing its results with international data from the original questionnaire. Content validity was strengthened through expert input and pilot application of the tool.
Reliability
The IIAQ demonstrates high internal consistency reliability, as measured by Cronbach’s alpha, which remains at high levels for most subscales. Test–retest reliability has also been confirmed, ensuring the stability of results over time.
Data Analysis and Use
Data analysis includes calculating total and subscale scores per syndrome and domain, comparing them with norms and cutoff values, and interpreting results for the design of individualized interventions. The data are used for educational support, counseling, and research purposes.
