Ερωτηματολόγιο Εκπαιδευτικών για την Αξιολόγηση της Συμπεριφοράς των Μαθητών [CTRS-59]

Purpose

The questionnaire aims to evaluate student behavior as observed by teachers.

Brief Description

The Teacher Questionnaire for the Evaluation of Student Behavior includes 59 questions and is a revised version of an earlier edition containing 37 questions. It targets children aged 3 to 17 years. Completion of the questionnaire usually takes between 15 and 20 minutes.

Scoring Method

Responses are given on a four-point Likert-type scale, where 1 means the characteristic does not apply to the child “at all,” 2 means “a little,” 3 means “quite a bit,” and 4 means “very much.” The questionnaire provides results both for individual parameters and more general factors.

Sample – Methodology

The methodology used for standardizing the questionnaire in the Greek context involved factor analysis. The questionnaire was initially translated into Greek by two independent translators and then back-translated by a third translator to ensure optimal quality and fidelity to the original version. It was administered to a sample of 352 primary and secondary school students aged 6 to 17 years. The data underwent a principal components analysis. A Varimax orthogonal rotation of multiple axes was applied, which revealed six factors: oppositional behavior, learning difficulties, interpersonal behavior problems, internalizing behavior problems, hyperactivity, and attention deficit.

Validity

The discriminant validity compared to the English version is deemed satisfactory (Conners, 1997). The relevant data from the Greek sample is currently under further analysis.

Reliability

In the manual of the English version, internal consistency reliability (Cronbach’s alpha) ranges from 0.87 to 0.92. For the Greek sample, internal consistency reliability across the six subscales ranges from 0.78 to 0.95.
