Analysis

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), developed by Smith, Organ, and Near in 1983, focuses on extra-role behaviors that are not included in the official job description but are vital for the effective functioning of the organization. The main dimensions of OCB include Altruism and Conscientiousness.

Purpose

The purpose of OCB is to measure employees’ voluntary behaviors that contribute to improving organizational performance and the overall workplace climate.

Scoring

Scoring is carried out using a 5-point Likert scale (1 = never to 5 = always), where participants rate the frequency or intensity of their behaviors across various statements related to the dimensions of OCB.
