The index measures traits such as the desire for admiration, excessive emphasis on one’s own sexual satisfaction, and the inability to recognize or appreciate their partner’s needs.

Purpose

The main purpose of the HIOSNS is to:
Assess the characteristics of sexual narcissism: It measures the extent of sexual narcissistic behaviors and attitudes in different areas of sexual life.
Investigate the relationship of sexual narcissism with other psychological variables: It examines how sexual narcissism is related to psychological well-being, relationships, and social interaction.
Support the development of intervention strategies: It provides data that can be used to design intervention and therapeutic strategies, focusing on reducing narcissistic traits and promoting healthier relationships.

Scoring

The scoring of the HIOSNS includes:
Categorization of Responses: Participants respond to questions related to their attitudes and behaviors in the sexual context, using agreement scales or other measurement methods.
Total Score: A total score is calculated, reflecting the level of sexual narcissism. Higher scores indicate stronger characteristics of sexual narcissism.
Analysis of Results: The relationship between sexual narcissism and other factors, such as psychological well-being, relationship satisfaction, and social interaction, is examined.
