Purpose

The test aims to provide a concise report on an individual’s personality traits.

Brief Description

The TPQue5 represents the shortened form of the Traits Personality Questionnaire (TPQue), which is based on the Five-Factor Model. This shortened version includes 75 statements that analyze the five main personality factors (Extraversion, Neuroticism, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness). In addition, it includes 26 questions that assess two validity scales: the Lie Scale and the Social Desirability Scale. In total, the TPQue5 consists of 101 statements.

Sample

The test evaluation was based on a sample of 488 individuals aged 18 to 45 years. Normative scores are available both in percentile values and in T-scores. Furthermore, there are separate normative scores for the general population and for employees. The mean scores of the five scales for the general population are as follows: For men, Extraversion is 52.53, Neuroticism 40.99, Openness to Experience 46.88, Agreeableness 51.34, and Conscientiousness 50.66. For women, Extraversion is 51.22.

Scoring Method

The individual’s overall score on each scale results from the sum of the scores assigned to each of the 15 statements included in each scale. The TPQue5 also offers an electronic scoring system for all scales, as well as a digital version of the individual’s personality profile.

Validity

Both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used during the initial stages of the TPQue5’s development, confirming its foundation in the theoretical Five-Factor Model. Further research confirms its concurrent validity, as it correlates satisfactorily with other personality tests based on the Five-Factor theory, as well as with its full version. Additionally, its construct validity is supported by other studies, since its scales are correlated not only with personality tests derived from other theoretical models (such as the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire – EPQ, Cattell’s 16 Personality Factors – 16PF, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory – MMPI), but also with other psychological variables, such as emotional intelligence, psychological well-being, work-related stress, career decisions, social skills, and organizational culture.

Reliability

Internal consistency reliability, as expressed by Cronbach’s alpha, for each dimension ranges from 0.74 to 0.84. Specifically, the coefficients for each scale are: Extraversion 0.81, Neuroticism 0.84, Openness to Experience 0.74, Agreeableness 0.79, and Conscientiousness 0.73.
Test-retest reliability ranges from 0.74 to 0.87. Specifically, the coefficients for each scale are: Extraversion 0.82, Neuroticism 0.84, Openness to Experience 0.81, Agreeableness 0.74, and Conscientiousness 0.87.
