Job Satisfaction Test

Scale Analysis

The Gala Job Satisfaction Test (GJST-80) was developed in 2006 by Galanakis and Stalikas to evaluate the degree to which an employee is satisfied with their job.

Purpose of the Scale

The purpose of the Gala Job Satisfaction Test is to assess the level of professional satisfaction of the employee.

Question Scoring

The test consists of 80 questions, each answered using a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (Disagree) to 5 (Agree). There is no time limit for completion, with the average completion time estimated at 30 minutes.

Statistical Analysis

The GJST is administered exclusively to adult employees to report their satisfaction with various aspects of their job. Each item is scored from 1 to 5 on the Likert scale. The total score is derived from the sum of all item scores, including reverse-scored items. The maximum achievable score for job satisfaction is 400 points.

Validity and Reliability

The reliability results show an internal consistency coefficient of Cronbach’s α = 0.94, which is very encouraging. Based on the content of the items, the test has good face validity. Additionally, there is a statistically significant correlation (r = 0.48, p < 0.01) between the final performance score and the individual’s self-assessment of high or low job satisfaction.
