Κλίμακα Κοινοτικής Προσαρμογής [ΚΠΠ-12]
Purpose of the Scale
The scale aims to evaluate the community adjustment of individuals with chronic mental illnesses when they are no longer in psychiatric facilities.
Scale Analysis
The scale was developed by Madianos. It covers 12 topics related to the social, economic, and broader aspects of the daily lives of the respondents. The sample consists of 106 patients dealing with psychosis, who have been followed for five years. Responses to the questions range from very high to significantly low levels for each topic.
Scoring and Statistical Analysis
Each condition assessed is scored on a scale from 1 to 4, with 1 indicating complete adequacy and 4 indicating severe inadequacy. Therefore, the total score can range from 12 to 48.
Scale Validity
There is a correlation between the CAS-12 and the Global Functioning Assessment Scale. The correlation coefficients for the first group were r=0.56 and -0.54 in two respective assessments, while for the second group, the coefficients were r=-0.56 and -0.84.
Scale Reliability
Two independent researchers and psychiatrists assessed the community adjustment of 30 randomly selected patients from two groups. The interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) between the two assessments was high at ICC=0.63. The correlation of the scores for each patient derived from the scale at the start of the study and in subsequent checks A and B resulted in coefficients r=0.91, 0.89, and 0.76 for Group A, and r=0.91, 0.89, and 0.84 for Group B. The internal reliability was found to be satisfactory.
