Problem Checklist [PC-154]
Description
The Problem Checklist (PC-154) is a 154-item self-report questionnaire designed to provide a broad assessment of problems and difficulties experienced by an individual. It covers several areas of everyday functioning, including physical health, emotional and psychological well-being, interpersonal relationships, financial and occupational difficulties, and personal habits and behaviors.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the PC-154 is to provide a comprehensive overview of an individual’s current difficulties and identify areas that may require further assessment or psychological and social intervention. It may also be used to monitor changes over time, particularly within counseling or therapeutic settings.
Scoring and Data Analysis
The PC-154 is completed through self-report, with participants evaluating each problem according to their personal experience. Responses may be recorded using a Likert-type scale reflecting the severity or frequency of each difficulty.
Data analysis may include descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and reliability analysis using Cronbach’s alpha. The results can help identify prominent problem areas, examine their severity, and evaluate changes following therapeutic or supportive interventions.
Psychometric Evaluation
Psychometric evaluation may involve internal consistency and stability analysis, factor analysis, and validation across different populations and settings. These procedures are important for determining whether the instrument reliably captures the range and structure of the difficulties it is intended to assess.
