Description

The Victimization in Dating Relationships [VIDR-18] questionnaire is designed to record and assess experiences of victimization within romantic and dating relationships. It focuses on identifying different forms of harmful or abusive behavior that individuals may experience from a romantic partner.

Purpose

The main purpose of the VIDR-18 is to assess the extent and nature of victimization in dating relationships, identify possible risk factors, and support the development of prevention and intervention programs for individuals who experience violence in romantic relationships.

Structure and Assessment

The questionnaire includes a series of statements that evaluate the frequency and intensity of victimization experiences across different dimensions. Participants respond according to their personal experiences using a five-point Likert scale.

The areas covered include physical violence, emotional abuse, sexual violence, financial abuse, as well as controlling and oppressive behaviors.

Use of Results

The VIDR-18 can be used to support the systematic study of violence and victimization in dating relationships. Its results may contribute to a better understanding of abusive relationship experiences and may be useful in research, prevention, counseling, and support contexts.
