Data Analysis and Use

The SASS evaluates the following key dimensions of sexuality in older adults:
Emotional and Psychological Well-being: How sexuality influences the psychological well-being and self-esteem of older adults.
Sexual Function and Satisfaction: The ability and quality of sexual functioning and the satisfaction derived from it.
Behaviors and Perceptions: Behaviors related to sexual activity and perceptions of sexuality in advanced age.
Relationships and Social Support: The impact of relationships and social support on the sexual life of older adults.
The data collected through SASS can be used to identify needs and problems in the field of sexual health among older adults, as well as to design appropriate interventions and support programs.

Purpose

The purpose of the SASS is to understand and assess the sexual functioning and well-being of older adults, providing information that can contribute to improving their quality of life. The tool also aims to raise awareness about the needs and challenges related to sexuality in advanced age, as well as to promote sexual health and well-being among older adults.

Calibration

The calibration of the SASS is usually carried out using a Likert scale, where participants rate statements or questions based on their agreement from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). The scores in each dimension are added up or averaged to determine the overall score in each domain of sexuality. High scores in specific dimensions indicate positive evaluation or satisfaction, while low scores may suggest problems or limitations.
