Religious Position Scale [RPS]
Description
The Religious Position Scale [RPS] is a self-report measure designed to assess different aspects of religious commitment, faith, and personal religious identity.
Purpose
The scale examines:
- the importance of religion as part of personal identity,
- participation in religious activities and practices,
- beliefs regarding religious doctrines and fundamental issues,
- the influence of religion on social and moral values.
Scoring
Participants respond to statements using a Likert-type scale, indicating their level of agreement or disagreement. Responses are converted into numerical scores that can be used to compare religious positions across individuals or groups.
Applications
The RPS can be used in psychological, social, and religion-related research to explore religious identity, religiosity, religious practices, and their associations with psychological or social variables.
