VARK Learning Styles Questionnaire [VARK-13]

Description

The VARK Learning Styles Questionnaire (VARK-13) is an assessment tool used to identify an individual’s preferred ways of receiving and processing information. It is based on four learning preferences: Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic.

Dimensions

  • Visual: preference for diagrams, charts, maps, and graphic representations.
  • Aural: preference for listening, discussion, and verbal explanations.
  • Read/Write: preference for written text, notes, and reading-based learning.
  • Kinesthetic: preference for practical experience, examples, and hands-on activities.

Purpose and Use

The VARK questionnaire can be used to support greater awareness of learning preferences and to help adapt study or teaching strategies accordingly. Individuals may show one dominant preference or a combination of several modalities.

Scoring

Responses are assigned to the V, A, R, and K categories. The resulting scores are used to describe the participant’s learning preference profile.
