Utrecht Work Engagement Scale [UWES]
Description
The Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) is a psychometric instrument used to assess employee engagement at work. It focuses on three core dimensions: Vigor, Dedication, and Absorption.
Purpose
The UWES is designed to measure employees’ level of work engagement and to examine how working conditions and personal attitudes influence engagement, motivation, productivity, and job satisfaction.
Measurement
Responses are provided on a 7-point Likert scale, ranging from 1 = Strongly Disagree to 7 = Strongly Agree.
Applications
The UWES is widely used in occupational and organizational research to examine work engagement and its relationship with factors such as job demands, job resources, burnout, well-being, and organizational performance.
