Description

The Religion Scale [RS] is an instrument designed to provide a broad assessment of an individual’s religious life and religiosity, taking into account multiple dimensions of religious experience.

Purpose

The scale primarily examines:

  • religious beliefs and their intensity,
  • participation in religious practices and ceremonies,
  • personal religious or spiritual experiences,
  • the influence of religious values on moral decisions and behavior.

Scoring

Participants typically respond using a Likert-type scale, rating the intensity or frequency of their religious attitudes and practices. Responses can be converted into numerical values and used to calculate overall indices of religiosity.

Applications

The RS can be used in psychological, social, and religion-related research to investigate religiosity and its associations with psychological, social, and behavioral variables.
