Brief Description
The Satisfaction with Performance Scaled Questionnaire (SPSQ-46) is a 46-item self-report tool that assesses an individual’s level of satisfaction with their performance in daily living activities. The items are grouped into two primary subscales: (a) satisfaction with functionality and (b) satisfaction with performance in independent living skills.
Satisfaction with Performance Scaled Questionnaire [SPSQ-46]
Description
The Satisfaction with Performance Scaled Questionnaire (SPSQ-46) is a 46-item self-report instrument designed to assess an individual’s satisfaction with their performance in activities related to daily and independent living.
The questionnaire includes two main areas: 24 household management activities and 22 social/community functioning activities.
Purpose
The primary purpose of the SPSQ-46 is to evaluate subjective satisfaction with functional performance. It can help identify activities in which individuals experience lower satisfaction or greater difficulty and can also support the evaluation of therapeutic or rehabilitation interventions.
Scoring
Participants rate activities they have performed over a specified period using a 5-point response scale, reflecting how frequently they felt satisfied with their performance.
Separate scores can be calculated for the two main domains, along with an overall satisfaction score. Higher scores generally reflect greater satisfaction with performance.
Psychometric Properties
The SPSQ-46 has been examined through factor-analytic procedures supporting the distinction between its main functional domains. Research has also reported high levels of internal consistency for its subscales.
Applications
The SPSQ-46 can be used in occupational therapy, rehabilitation, clinical assessment, and research, particularly in studies focusing on independent living, functional performance, and satisfaction with everyday activities.
