Description
The UPPS-P Impulsive Behavior Scale is a psychometric instrument designed to assess different dimensions of impulsive behavior. It can be used in both research and clinical settings.
Dimensions
The scale assesses five main dimensions:
- Negative Urgency
- Lack of Premeditation
- Lack of Perseverance
- Sensation Seeking
- Positive Urgency
Structure and Scoring
The full version includes 59 items, rated on a 4-point Likert scale. Scores can be examined overall or separately across the five dimensions.
Applications
The UPPS-P can be used to investigate the relationship between impulsivity, psychological difficulties, risky behaviors, and problems related to self-regulation.
